Healthcare is constantly evolving.

One of the most significant changes concerns how we deliver care. Increasingly, care is shifting from in-person encounters to online or hybrid forms. This brings both opportunities and challenges.

For some, digital care feels like a helpful addition; for others, it can feel complex, distant, or even unsettling.

To support these conversations in a thoughtful way, a conversation guide has been developed together with healthcare professionals and patients.

The guide helps care providers and clients explore which form of care fits best — in both content and connection.

Not to convince, but to open possibilities, strengthen autonomy, and keep human connection at the center.

Based on the principles of Communicating with Respect (CmR), the guide offers practical steps for conversations in which care provider and client explore together:

• which forms of care are possible (in-person, at home, online, or hybrid);

• what someone needs to feel safe and heard;

• how control and pace can remain with the client.

The conversation does not start with technology, but with contact.

Because the quality of care arises where people truly meet.

The attitude you bring to the conversation determines the quality of the connection.
